Glacier Ice / Photography / Before it’s Gone
"Before it’s Gone" is a series of images by Jason Norton, documenting the passing of time and history by way of water. Each image is a piece of a glacier, a fragment of ice that holds water and atmosphere from the past.
Using only a small backdrop and medium format camera, Norton isolates each piece of ice on its own, reminding us that each is an individual vessel of frozen time.
“Borrowed time and borrowed world and borrowed eyes with which to sorrow it.”
― Cormac McCarthy, The Road
